Amy took her axe from Dan, she then moved towards the open door. Poking her head round the corner of the door frame she looked down the corridor to see if she could see anymore Zombies, or even the vampire. But it was no use; all that she could see was the darkness down the hall. Amy then looked over to Dan,

“Looks like the coast is clear…”

Amy then poked her head round again, her eyes darted about the darkness trying to capture a glimpse of anything that moved in the pure black void,

“But that means nothing…”

She then mumbled to herself. Those zombies had come from somewhere, and most likely the darkness. Amy moved back into the room and started to search the Zombies for anything of use, rummaging through their pockets but still keeping her eyes on the door just in case anymore of them decided to turn up. Her hand pushed into the depths of all of their pockets finding nothing other than a wallet in one, but their money was no use and neither was their credit card.

Amy stood up and dusted off her hands, she then lifted her mask back onto her face and pulled down her goggles to cover her eyes. Her axe was then lifted onto her right shoulder and gripped tight in her right hand, her left hand rested on her hip,

“So, fancy wandering into the dark with me?”

Amy’s voiced asked cheekily from behind her mask, slightly distorted from the plastic. She then let the axe swing down next to her leg holding it tight, it dangled besides her swinging gently. Amy slowly strolled towards the door and pressed her body against the door and peeked around the corner one last time before walking out into the corridor with the axe in both hands…

Daniel finally stopped his assault having finally dealt with the menace which now had only chunks of what its head used to be. Regaining his composure, Daniel looked on to find that Amy had already dealt with her zombies. Figures as she gave him her axe to take his surgeon down. Daniel wiped the blood from his hand off on his pant leg after seeing that it was just a flesh wound. Amy took her axe before he could suggest giving it back to her.

"The coast is never clear.."

Heading back towards the mess of the once proud surgeon, Dan knelt down to take the scalpel from the corpses hand. His blood was apparent on the blade which he also wiped off. Now he had a carving weapon though it's reach was rather tiny. Getting back up, Amy asked him to follow into the darkness. If that wasn't a great plan, he didn't know what was.

"As long as I'm the bait.."

Daniel would say this while smearing the blood on his cheek to his other cheek. If it was a vampire they had then it would probably go after the one that seemed the least harmful and most damaged. At that point, it would seem to be neither of them. But anything can happen in the dark and hopefully whatever was in it doesn't choose the wrong victim. Daniel followed Amy out of the room into the dark hallway.

It was quiet, but it was too quiet for Amy’s liking; there was no sound of more undead and there was no light so seeing was becoming increasingly difficult. Amy’s hands gripped her axe tight as she slowly continued to walk down the pitch black hallway, a small amount of light snuck through from under a door next to her. Amy gently tapped on Dan’s shoulder to get his attention in the dark; no doubt he had already seen it too, the light stood out in the darkness.

Gradually stepping towards the door Amy steadied her breathing to create less noise as she lightly gripped the door knob and turned it slowly. She then pushed the door gently opening it enough to get a glimpse inside, but she couldn’t see anything…yet.

Moving in to the room she looked both sides of the door, her eyes scanned every inch of her surroundings checking for anything out of place that may tell her if anything was in the room or if there was anything of use inside the room. She seemed to be inside the pharmacy, what a lucky find, there was bound to be medication here. Amy quickly moved behind the counter with a little vault and looked at the shelves,

“Empty…figures, there’s never anything anywhere,”

She muttered to herself then looked over to a piece of paper on one shelf; she picked it up and carefully unfolded it.

Sorry, but I already took all these meds.

Well it seemed that Leon had already been here and taken everything that he could…even the useless stuff. But if Leon had left notes like this around then maybe more survivors would find the bunker…

( ooc: At level 1, you may only carry one weapon and one piece of equipment. Daniel, has the Glock been exchanged for the Scalpel? You can only have one or the other. The other option would be to take the Scalpel as a piece of equipment to cut objects like a rope, etc. However, if taken as equipment, it may never be used to attack. )

Amy and Daniel would never know, but they were heading directly for the Vampire. In fact, the monster was only inches away from the ginger taking lead as she stopped to open the door. It was looking directly at her, observing it's prey. It wasn't just going to attack in a violent rage like it's minions, it was too intelligent for that. The Zombies it had sent were a test, and the pair had passed; they were good enough prey for a good hunt. Well, more of a game than a hunt. It wasn't just to kill them; it was for some sort of sadistic fun.

As Amy pushed the door open, light flooded into the hallway, lighting up some of the area. By which time, the Vampire had vanished from it's former location, left without a sound and leaving the other oblivious to the fact that it was watching them so closely. Darkness was a Vampire’s best friend, especially when on such a fun hunt. Perhaps it was time to lead it’s prey to a more open area for the entertainment to begin.

After reading the letter, the two would hear a quiet thud outside, then another, and another. Getting quieter and quieter with each one. Following down the hallway were pieces of a body, a foot, the leg, the other leg, the torso and then the head round the corner, leading into one of the hospital wards. The sign had been torn off, so you couldn’t tell what ward it was. Inside, the lights were on, and beds had all been thrown to the other sides of the room. Leaving an open space with the Vampire stood waiting for the others to follow the trail, probably tripping over the body parts to find them considering the lack of lighting until they got round the corner…

(OOC: It's an equipment.. Nothing can really be harmed by a centimeter long blade. It's still a slicing equip)

Dan had followed Amy into the dark corridor yet again. It was seeming now he needed the protection instead of her. But with him being a bloody target now, the marine wasn't really surprised. Their gaze fell upon a slight glimps of light underneath a door. Giving Dan a signal, the girl went towards the door opening it slightly before going in. Dan followed suit as he walking into the room not knowing what was in it.

No danger could be seen throughout the room as it looked to be only a pharmacy area. He was releaved to find this place as it would mean an end to his mission. But his assumption was dismissed after Amy had checked everything upon the shelves finding nothing but a letter. Daniel walked over to her and checked the letter for himself.

"Figures the guy would send me on a wild goose chase!"

This didn't make any sense to Daniel. Why would Leon send two soldiers and two others to the hospital to find medication when he already raided the place? His questioning turned to suspicion as he wondered why Amy herself was here as well. The marine quickly dismissed any claim upon the girl as she didn't seem to be a bother. But the question still remained. Is there anything left inside the hospital?

"I don't know about you but this mission is seeming to be impossible unless we can somehow see in the dark"

Daniel walked over to and leaned against the wall next to the open doorway, thinking about what to do next. If they continue on, they will have to find some sort of medical storage area which would either be in the basement or one of the other floors. But if they quit now, they can possibly get some supplies for another run.

"What do you think? Stay and search other floors for medication or regroup back at the Bunk?"

Daniel would only look at Amy until he heard the thuds outside the door way. Each one growing ever so quietly into the distance. Looking out the doorway, Dan would find a foot that wasn't there a second ago. Seems like someone was in a hurry for a feast.

"Looks like our host would like to meet 'Mono y Mono'.."

Going through the doorway, Dan remembered he didn't have Amy's answer yet. The marine poked his head back through the doorway.

"Well! Ya coming or what!?"

Amy thought about what Dan asked, stay or leave? But the choice was made for them as it is human nature to be curious. With the slight thudding outside the room Amy’s head turned to see Dan leaving, a second later he poked his head back inside the pharmacy. Amy vaulted over the counter again and followed Dan into the shadowed hall. As they gradually walked Amy couldn’t help thinking the old phrase ‘curiosity killed the cat’.

Slowly stepping through the darkness Amy kicked something; it seemed to move out of the way easily so she ignored it until a little further she kicked something else. The second object was larger and heavier, Amy knelt down and felt around on the floor to find something that felt like material covered flesh; Amy quickly realised that she was touching a leg. She then stood back up and continued to walk down the hall until she came to a corner.

Poking her head round she noticed a severed head sat facing her, its eyes and mouth open, blood trickling from each tear in his facial flesh and his eyes and mouth. The head was placed directly under the light so that it was in clear view. Amy’s head then lifted to see the double doors to the next ward wide open, blood smeared up the glass. Amy’s eyes locked on to a figure stood in the centre of the room with their back to the corridor.

Amy knew that the person stood in the room wasn’t another Zombie, but a Vampire; it was obvious by the way it stood proud and still, not slouched or missing limbs. It also wasn’t gnawing at the flesh of the dismembered head on the floor; this was a trail left by the Vampire to attract the humans, and it had worked. The Vampire would be able to sense Amy and Dan stood there, even if Amy was on her own and steadied her breathing and hid in the dark that creature would be able to hear her, smell her and if facing the same way even see her in the dark; a Vampire’s senses where incredible which made them a dangerous foe to fight. Amy turned to Dan in the shadows,

“The Vampire is in the next room, and it will know that we are here,”

Amy then poked her head round the corner again; the Vampire hadn’t moved a single inch. Gripping her axe tight Amy walked out into the light and towards the ward, her weapon held in both hands glinting in the bright lights.

“Oi! Vampy!”

Amy yelled, her voice echoed in the empty room and her mask…

The fanged monster remained still even with Amy approaching and trying to provoke her. It wasn't stupid enough to be angered by such a childish tactic. It didn't even move a muscle, not even breathing.

It knew they were there of course, it could smell them as soon as they entered the Hospital. But it chose here to be the venue for the 'showdown'. Stalking it's prey and killing without being seen was getting boring. This particular Vampire wanted a good scrap. And, it hoped that these two would provide a worthy challenge...

"... Welcome."

The creature said in a fairly deep voice, a rather croaky voice though. Nothing short of creepy. But, what would you expect from an undead creature of the night?

Daniel was still in the shadows though the light still giving his a visible outline. All his plans went flying out the nearest window. This Vampire seemed way to smart to go for any kind of trap. The fact that it knew they were here means that it can sense him even in the dark so no surprise attacks were even feasible. Also since it seemed like an ambush predator, his being in the darkness wasn't helping. Being a supernatural, undead, pompous, creature of the night had its benefits for this thing.

After thinking these things, Dan wanted to punch himself. He was falling for the most simple of mind games, Intimidation. This vampire wants him to think these things. To psych himself out so as to become better prey. Daniel wouldn't stand to have his mind pushed around by a "queen of the damned". If anything this agent of hell was going to have to try harder than just standing in the middle of a ward mess him up any more.

Though it was strange that this creature had now decided to show itself. It could have easily killed the both of them faster than that centaur. Was it bored and wanting a fight or still playing mind games with them. Whatever this "princess" wanted seemed to bring out a sliver of happiness inside Daniel. The undead creature just made this 20 year old male remember why he became a Marine.

"Looks like somebody..."

Dan said while walking into the light beside Amy; cracking his knuckles while doing so. Looking upon the vampire, he would smile before continueing.

"..ordered a showdown to the death"

Because life is worth living.

Amy’s axe began to spin in her hands so that the blade was facing up, then down again; she kept spinning it round as she walked into the ward, the blade cut the air creating a whooshing sound. She quickly checked either side of the door for undead guards, but the coast was clear; it seemed that the Vampire seemed to have some honour, not just leading them into some sort of a Zombie trap… it seemed that the Vampire actually wanted to fight the humans. Amy stopped spinning her axe as she began to slow her steps.

The female came to a halt around three meters away from the Vampiric host of the abandoned hospital, the thing still had his back to its guests which was just plain rude; it also meant that the humans didn’t know if this Vampire was targeting one of them, but do Vampires even need to look at something to hit it? After all a Vampire seems to be able to sense a human’s presence in another room through a God damned wall.

"Looks like somebody...ordered a showdown to the death"

Amy’s head quickly turned to face the soldier,

"Don’t get cocky, these things are strong, fast, intelligent and can regenerate almost instantly, they are a superior being to us…"

As Amy spoke those words it seemed like she admired the Vampire for its abilities, she then turned to face the Vampire again, still in the middle of the room, not budging at all.

"A Vampire is the perfect predator because it was designed to hunt man, I have seen it, their speed and strength was enough to take out five soldiers before they could even get a shot at it. But with all good things there are down sides; sunlight seemed to work last time I saw one. It couldn’t follow me once I had gone outside… unfortunately for us it is now dusk…"

The female took a quick look at her surroundings for anything that she thought would help her kill the undead creature that stood before her. But there was nothing, maybe she would have to try and find another weakness during the fight because sunlight was out of the equation with the sun setting and not rising again for another eight hours or so.

"Vampy, we going to do this then or what?"

Amy asked waiting for the Vampire to turn around and make the first move, she knew that this thing was too clever for the humans to attack it from behind. She would just wait for the best time to counter attack and try and exploit any weak spots she might find…if any at all…

Well, these humans were smarter than the average ones this Vampire had hunted; most would just take the first shot they got with it’s back turned or be completely petrified by the monsters that had taken control of the city. Though, it seemed the ones that had survived this long were adjusting to life with monsters. They didn’t seem particularly frightened any more. Well, not just by seeing a Vampire, other tactics would still work to panic them. But that wasn’t the goal here.

Though, this girl seemed to know a lot about Vampires; their strengths and usual hunting tactics. But, the Vampire simply smirked as Amy only knew of one weakness, the one that will be of no use to them here: sunlight.

Almost laughing as she turned, the Vampire raised one arm with a gracious swivel of it’s wrist before bowing to it’s guests. The Vampiric woman wore all black, as to be expected from a night stalker. As the female undead raised it’s head, her blood red eyes met Amy’s…

“My name is Cathúle. And you’re right little girl, I am a ‘superior being’ as you put it. So what makes you think that you can kill me? What do you think makes you so exceptional? What can you do that the hundreds of humans I’ve killed before you couldn’t…?”

She asked, rhetorically of course. There was nothing special about this human, only the strong will to survive. But will alone doesn’t kill Vampires.

“Let’s see, shall we…?”

As Cathúle finished her sentence, a smirk crept onto her face. It was time for the battle to commence. The creature of the night quickly rushed forward, taking a few quick steps to advance on Amy within second, choosing her as the first target, simply because she was better equipped. As Cathúle closed in, she pulled her hand back to swing for Amy’s face with an open hand, nails sharpened to claws for a simple scratching attack…

Amy watched closely as the Vampire bowed down before her and Dan, she then began to move her lips as somewhat meaningless words escaped her mouth; Amy wasn’t really listening to the creature, just watching her body language closely. The Vampire seemed relaxed and calm; she then bent her knees and lunged towards Amy. Moving as fast as she could Amy moved her head back as she stepped backwards and lifted her left arm to grab the Vampire’s wrist; although Amy was faster than a normal human, she wasn’t faster than a Vampire. Her grab missed but she still managed to dodge the scratch by a couple of millimetres.

With the Vampire’s attack missing Amy decided to try a counter attack. Pushing forward with her whole body, she swung the Axe down hard and fast trying to sever the arm left out after the Vampire’s attack. Even if the Vampire moved the arm from this attack it probably wouldn’t be expecting the spinning kicks that would follow, the first using her right leg to kick the Vampire in the side of the head and bringing it round to her left side, before then spinning her body round and lifting her left leg up attempting to boot the blood sucker in the jaw in a lifting motion like a foot uppercut. Although the kicks wouldn’t do much damage they would hopefully knock the sadistic Vampire on to her back…

Little did Dan realize when the vampire turned around did his views start to fade. This "princess" was really a chick!? Damning his dramatic imagination he felt the need to put a hand to his face. Though keeping the urge down let him watch as the undead creature flashed across the hallway bearing nails at Amy.

Wanting to help, Dan took one step before realizing that help wouldn't be needed at this point. The girl showed quite her own speed against the speed demon. Of course the two weren't equally matched as the vampire was much faster, Amy still looked as though she could hold her own indefinetly. Seeing legs spinning through the air made Dan step back enough to stay far from any friendly fire but still close enough to get in the fight when needed.

With the scratching attack simply swinging through the air and barely missing it's target, the Vampire was battle hardened enough to know that a counter attack was coming straight after. In fact, that was her plan; this initial attack was just to get the ball rolling, so to speak, not to actually strike her foe.

An axe attack - predictable. Cathúle dodged the vertical strike by flattening her body to a side-on position so that the axe simply swung past her, missing entirely. The kicks that followed were not quite as predictable as the first attack however. As the first foot swung round, the undead combatant took the full force to the jaw, her head turning with the impact. But, unlike most humans would have, she wasn't stunned by this strike for long enough for the second attempt to make a solid connection. Cathúle reacted quick enough to catch Amy's second thrusting kick in the palm of one hand and instantly swung her foot out to sweep her opponent's other leg before letting go.

With Amy presumably having her footing lost completely, she'd fall to the ground at the same time that Cathúle turned her attention to the male stood ready to jump into the battle when the time was right. Though, the Vampire wouldn't wait for him to attack, she'd take the fight to him with an abrupt charge. Within a second, she’d be upon his position, forcing her shoulder into his gut in an attempt to tackle him to the ground. And with more strength and speed than him, it’s be hard to resist…

As Amy turned her body round she managed to connect the first kick, so far so good. Her next kick then came round, the second then foot thrusted up towards the jaw of the Vampire but instead of knocking the Vampire back, Amy found herself in a rather odd predicament. One foot on the ground, the other up at head height, and her back to the undead freak.

With Amy’s foot uppercut caught she was left one legged and easy to knock off balance; the Vampire’s kick took Amy’s leg from under her with an effortless sweeping motion. Amy spun as she fell to the floor landing hard on her back and grunting on impact. Rolling to the side she then got to a knelt position and tried to grab the Vampire by her ankle; but the undead just moved out of reach before she had chance to grip her.

With the blood sucker now focused on Dan, Amy got to her feet and grabbed her axe again; her counter attack had worked, just not as well as she had hoped… the next one would have to be better and faster… somehow…

Daniel expected something like this. Vampiric speed versus exceptional human speed weren't equal. The attacks were swift but the evasions were quicker. Having flung down Amy, the vampires attention went straight to Dan while he waited for a chance to head in. Her intent was quickly understood as she sped towards him with only a few steps. Her shoulder met with his gut before he could even think to do anything. This caused him to fly into one of the walls. Both forces acting upon him caused instant pain as he felt his body burn from possible broken ribs. The wind was also knocked out of Dan nearly making him vulnerable. If it wasn't for his military training, these factors would have been the death of him.

This marine wasn't gonna go down without a good fight, however, as he got back up slowly. The vampire would possibly take this advantage to take him down again before he got all the way back up. This gave Dan three choices to choose from. Charge the undead knowing well it could just throw him off, stand there and let the thing attack giving Amy a chance to attack it, or wait for her to do another speed attack towards him again.

He determined to keep his position and make this thing attack it again. If she did he would use her speed against the creature by sidestepping while taking an arm leading the princess of darkness straight into the wall. Knowing full well that she might not be stunned well from it, he might be able to get a good grapple hold onto her for Amy's next hit.

"Is that all there is to a scrawny little princess like yourself..!? Come on!!"

Cathúle's plan was to tackle Daniel to the floor, but he was fairly strong for a human, and managed to keep on his feet. Not that it mattered too much, the wall was good enough for a solid impact. Even with this display or brute force against the wall, Dan chose to taunt the Vampire as he pulled himself up to his feet. Although she was tempted to charge again with anger from the comment, she wasn't stupid, that's exactly what he wanted, and she knew this.

But still, she couldn't let this kind of verbal assault go unpunished. The Vampire would just attack with something that he probably wouldn't be expecting. With incredibe reflexes, Cathúle dashed a couple of steps to the side to grab the frame of one of the hospital beds with one hand and flung it. It didn't actually leave the floor, but spun round as it slid across the room straight for the marine... With Cathúle right behind it! She dashed directly behind the bed she tossed, ready to grab Dan by the throat while his legs were crushed by the bed, or even if he jumped over it...

Amy watched as Dan was slammed into the wall, he seemed to be injured but still wanting to fight on; the warrior’s spirit would never die because of a few simple bumps and bruises. Dan tried to tempt the Vampire over with another charge…but the undead was clever and knew what he was trying, Amy noticed that the Vampire was to attack; but its body was leaning towards one side like it was going to do something other than just run at him again.

Amy then got to her feet as she saw the Vampire headed for the bed for a second attack on Dan. Amy quickly bolted forwards as the Vampire grabbed the bed frame, as it began to launch the bed Amy jumped across the room and thrusted her feet out in front of her to dropkick the bed knocking it to the side and preventing it from hitting Dan. But this didn’t stop the Vampire that was still on its way towards the soldier, the undead simply stepped on Amy as it continued on its course straight for the human male. If Amy had already reached the floor that stomp would have hurt less… but after her dropkick she was still in the falling motion as the Vampire slammed her into the floor.

Coughing and spluttering Amy rolled onto her side, her eyes shut tight and her arms wrapped around her gut. Amy felt like she had been thrown off a building after that impact. Slowly opening her eyes she saw nothing, no Dan, no Vampire… she then realised she was facing the wrong way, and she didn’t yet have enough air in her lungs or energy to turn over and see what was happening to Dan.

(occ: Sorry.. tried juggling too many things at once for a while)

Daniel found himself in a bit of a predicament. His plan was already predicted as the vampire took it upon herself to throw a bed at him while closing the distance between them. Seeing that it was no use, Dan just stood there. Jumping over the thing would bring him into an aerial battle which wouldn't be his forte.

Suddenly, Amy knocked the bed out of the way giving him a chance to attack. Watching her fall because of the vampire enraged him. Not taking any second to plan anything out anymore, Dan stood perfectly still. The undead was still heading towards him with claws bare. Watching and waiting until he took the handgun from where it was and pointed it vigilante style. Knowing full well it would not fire, he still needed a trigger.

When the vampire finally came at arms length Dan fell to the ground. Pain shot through him as he found himself dropping to the ground while curling up to roll to the side. The claws instead fell across his shoulder and chest causing more blood to seep out of him. But all he really wanted was to get this vamp down. Having her in close range made it perfect for a better grapple. Though this wouldn't be enough unless he could somehow get her to the ground.

"Shall we dance, Queen of Darkness?!"

Building back up from his position behind her, the marine would grab the queen into a full nelson while shifting his own weight to try and make her fall.

With the girl kicking the bed aside, Cathúle found herself charging without the bed frame as a distracting first attack. Though, she charged regardless, taking a stomping step across Amy, and reaching for Dan. He had too much time to react this time though, managing to roll away. But, with blodd across her claws, the Vampire had still managed to tear into his shoulder a little. The blood sucker was distracted for a split second by the blood slowly dripping down it's finger tips. And, as she came back into a battle frame of mind, before she knew what was happening properly, she could feel the human's pressence behind her...

Cathúle was grabbed from behind, round her arms, presumably so that she couldn't fight back properly. Being a Marine, Dan was pretty strong, and had the advantage in this position. But still, he couldn't quite get her to the floor, she was determined to stay upright. She remained on her feet, but didn't quite struggle out either... Yet. However, he wouldn't be able to hold her for long. Either him or Amy would have to come up with something quick, before she escaped!

Amy managed to slowly roll over to see Dan behind the Vampire. Amy got to her feet still struggling to breathe slightly, with one hand on her gut the other reached out and used her axe to balance. Her vision slightly blurred and her head pounding from her skulls slamming into the floor, Amy tried to steady herself, shaking her head she started to come round again.

As Dan grabbed the Vampire, Amy had an idea… Zombies were undead… Vampires were undead… Zombies die with a solid blow to the head from an axe… maybe a Vampire would too. With Dan grabbing it so that its arms were out of reach for anymore claw attacks it should be easy to get close and take a downward hack at the undead blood suckers skull to try and destroy its brain.

Stepping forward Amy used her momentum to swing the axe down harder and quicker; her aim was almost spot on every other time she tried to hit something in the skull with the axe head. As she got closer, Amy kept checking the Vampire’s legs every second for signs of movement in case of kicks or attempts to break free. Her eyes then darted back to and forth between the legs and the target’s head so that she wouldn’t miss or accidentally hit Dan in the head with a stray axe chop…
